If you’re fluent in Spanish, you could get a translation credit on the Spanish edition of Getting Bi: Bisexual Voices from Around the World:
Dear All,
As you may know, I’m working on the second edition of the anthology Getting
Bi: Voices of Bisexuals Around the World. This edition will include 33 new essays (from
20 different countries), and will also be coming out in English, SPANISH, and Chinese in
2009.I’m writing in the hope that you will be willing do me an enormous favor.
All of the essays from the first edition have already been translated into Spanish, and we now
need help translating the new essays. The essays range in length from one to three
pages, and a few of them are poems.WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO TRANSLATE ONE ESSAY (OR MORE) FROM ENGLISH TO
SPANISH?This book is a labor of love – no one (not even my co-editor Sarah or myself) has been
paid to put this book together. It is published by a nonprofit organization in the United
States, and the Spanish edition will be published by EGALES, Spain’s equality group. While
we can’t offer payment, you would of course receive translation credit, if you’d like it.Please let me know if you can help.
Thanks,
Robyn

Although this book is not a money-making endeavor, I can say that, within GLBTQ circles, it is a very important book. It’s one of the only books that compiles bisexual voices, and as such, almost anyone who’s involved in the movement knows this book. I wish I was fluent enough in Spanish to translate some of the essays myself.
