Warning: Another Blogging Haitus

There are essentially two indicators of how on top of things I am in my life:

  1. How clean my apartment is and
  2. How regularly I update this blog

Luckily, none of my blog readers are privvy to #1 on a regular basis, and I’m going to be totally transparent about #2. This will probably be my only post until the end of July/beginning of August. I’m going to be in Chicago from July 23 – 28, and before that (ahem, now), I’m frantically trying to finish a bunch of projects so I don’t have to take them with me. Apparently, this past week has been the one when all of my favorite clients (or the clients for whom I am their favorite editor) have decided to buckle down and get serious about their manuscripts. I’ve been performing feats of time contortion as I try to catch every one that comes my way, but for the first time, I had to turn a manuscript down last week. Don’t get me wrong–it’s a good problem to have. I just hope the writer doesn’t find an editor she likes better in the meantime.
